1. Only focus on one room/area at a time.
a. Monday-Master bedroom/Bath
b. Tuesday-Family room, Laundry room, front room, entry way
c. Wednesday-Kitchen
d. Thursday-Playroom
e. Friday- kids rooms and bathroom
2. Set a daily time limit. Once the timer beeps the room is done. This helps me not get sidetracked on FB, phone calls or reminiscing.
3. Always have personal fuel on tap. (Mine is Dr. Pepper)
4. Recruit help from children (You are not then only one who makes messes, so it is not considered child labor)
5. Reward yourself and helpers (a walk to the park, the dollar show, movie night).
6. During spring cleaning week dinner is take out or crockpot.
7. If you have not used something in six months throw it away (skinny clothes, toys magazines, nothing is sacred).
8. Let your spouse know what you are cleaning that day so he can compliment you later. (Communication is key in any relationship)
9. Don’t be afraid of power tools. My favorite duster for house plants is the air compressor. I just drag all of my decorations out to the driveway and blow them off. This also is a great way to clean blinds.
10. After it is all done sit back and admire your hard work!
Side note-I quoted “SPRING” for a reason. Today we woke up to this.
I am glad I planted my peas and strawberries on Monday. HAHA! Whoever has stolen spring please bring it back. I will pay the ransom!

My favorite is telling the husband so he knows to compliment. So wise!
I will be sure to tell my maid the advice!
Love it, Meg! I need to get in the cleaning mode! I will definately take your advice!
I love your tips! I really need to do some spring cleaning myself. My house is always a disaster....and I only have one kid! I hope your peas and strawberries survive.
