I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE!

I am so lucky to live in Utah where there are so many temples so close. Yesterday, I decided to have a “Mommy Daughter Date” with Mallie and we went and toured the newly constructed Draper Temple. As a member of the LDS church the temple is a sacred place where members make covenants with Heavenly Father and each other. Once a temple is dedicated then only worthy church members can go inside. Members of the church can get married in the temple, and by doing so are sealed to each other on earth and in heaven hence making the family unit forever. (For more information go click here www.lds.org)

Mallory loves everything about weddings. She love watching them on TV and playing brides. Because of the sacredness of the temple she has never been to a sealing. So she was so excited to go and see where people get married in the temple. Wow! is the only word I can use to describe the beauty of this temple. It was so much fun to spend the afternoon with her touring this exquisite building. Mallory was so sweet and had so many questions. I tried explaining the best I could and she got most of it. When we were in the sealing rooms, I picked her up to show her the double mirrors and how the reflection goes on forever. I stated that when people are married in the temple then their relationship never ends just like the mirrors. She got really quite and said, “I am glad that you and Dad were married here, because it would be sad if you didn’t ‘go’ on forever.”

At the end of the tour Mallie said, “Mom I want to get married in this temple, do you think that would be OK?” Of course I said yes!

I am so glad to be a member of the LDS church, and to have temples to close to me. I am glad I got this opportunity to spend this time with Mallie and I am so blessed to be her Mom.

This was so sweet! I hope she remembers this experience when she gets older.
