Have you every laid awake in bed, complimenting yourself on everything you got accomplished during the day. For example, you got your daughter off to school this morning after you had a shower and got ready for the day, cleaned up the breakfast dishes before 8:00 am. Got your son to football on time, and watched his game without thinking of the millions of things you need to get done. After football go to Costco, Home Depot, and the bank all before meeting the kindergarten bus for early out day. Fix and clean up lunch. Do homework, catch up the books for your small business, take a walk with kids, do two loads of laundry, run the vacuum through the house, make a new recipe for diner, cleaned up diner, bathed all three kids, read stories, put the kids to bed, set down and watched re runs of “Scrubs” with hubby. All this while keeping a 3 month old fed, clean and happy. Your final thought is “Man, I got it all together”.
The next morning you wake up 30 minutes late, decide to skip the shower, your daughter misses the bus, your son spills milk and it does not get cleaned up for hours because the new recipe you made last night for diner has given your breastfed 3 month old a tummy ache and he screams every time you put him down. You eat lunch and diner at McDonalds and you have lost your temper so many times that you have stopped counting. You finally dose off to sleep in the recliner with a baby asleep on your chest and you are content to stay there the rest of the night because at least the baby is asleep. Your final thought is “Will I ever get it together?”

I was amazed with your first day. Especially since it is 9 AM here and no one is dressed yet.
Then the next paragraph made me feel like I am just like everyone else. I am grateful for those good days.
Amen! That so happens to me, but almost everyday (the second day that is!) The thing I hate is that on those crappy days you just kick yourself the whole day thinking "Man if I did it yesterday why can't I do it today too?" Oh, and I did the math the other day and realized i am going to be getting up before 7:00am to get kids off to school for the next 18 years. Oh boy! I need a nap!
I just love it. I can't wait until I have to have kid on bus at 8 and three other kids somewhat ready for the day at all. What a life we live
Oh Meg! I always think of my sisters as super moms! You're doing great!!!!
